Book OnlineThe Symptoms
Neck pain can present as acute and sharp, or dull and constant, with reduced mobility of the head and neck. The pain can be present at the top or bottom of the neck and can radiate into the shoulder or head, often triggering headaches.
The Cause
The most common triggers are stress, poor posture either standing or sitting, poor workplace position, slips, trips or falls, overuse of devices, whiplash, and even sleeping awkwardly! Any of these can lead to strains in the upper back and neck, or increased muscle tension and spasm.
The Solution
Osteopaths can gently and effectively release tension in the neck, as well as any other areas that may be contributing to the problem, including the upper back and shoulders and the tissues in the head. Postural advice, including workstation set up or some simple exercises may also be prescribed, to ease your discomfort.
